Community Integration
Whether it’s going to a local park or participating in a yoga class, OBI works hard to support individuals in becoming active members in the broader community. We support individuals in the community anywhere from once a week up to daily activities in the community.
Fitness.
OBI supports people with disabilities to stay fit by connecting with local establishments such as the YMCA, DodgeArrows Annapolis, North Arundel Aquatic Center, and more.
CRAB Sailing.
Each summer and early fall, OBI partners with CRAB to offer sailing opportunities to the individuals we support.
Community Events.
OBI works hard to find free or low-cost opportunities in the community. We are constantly seeking new opportunities to expand the possibilities and introduce new activiites of interest to the people we support.
Person-Centered.
Our Person-Centered Planning team gets to know each individual's unique interests and goals, and helps to develop the Person-Centered Plan (PCP) that guides their services. Each individual receiving services from OBI is assigned to a Coordinator who will serve as their primary source of contact. OBI Coordinators also advocate for appropriate services and funding through the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) to ensure that everyone receives the level of service needed for them to have the best possible experience.
Virtual Supports.
The pandemic introduced a new way to interact and spend meaningful time with the people we support when we can't physically be together.
OBI offers virtual supports via Zoom, to compliment our in-person services.
